being wild + free in 2017

I can be so hard on myself, especially in a world where people are quick to criticize others on social media. I begin to believe it when people say I'm funny looking or not want to wear something when someone comments about how ugly something is.

Well this is the year of being wild and free.

To not take life so seriously.

To be ME!

wild and free

I'm going to stop obsessing about having the best eyebrows, the most amazing wavy hair or that perfect Instagramable outfit and just be ME better.

I love fashion, trying new hairstyles and learning how to do new things with makeup so this doesn't mean I am going to stop loving all of these things. It just means when I try out an amazing new hairstyle and it ends up looking horrendous, I'm going to laugh it off, throw it in a messy top knot (something I mastered years ago...ha!) and go on with my day.

I brought in this "Wild and Free" tshirt into my shop after reading the book Wild and Free by Jess Connolly and Haley Morgan. In it, they write:

"When we critique ourselves or discount ourselves, we are doing the very opposite of worship. When we pinch our thighs in disgust, when we shake our heads at how awkward we feel, when we stand in the mirror and look on in frustration, when we look to the right or to the left and assume that everything would be better if we just had that one persons life, gift, beauty, talent, family, or home, we are not in agreement with our Father, who has made us, appointed us, and called it all good. We are flat-out telling God He is wrong."

Let's not tell God that he is wrong and instead worship him for the unique person that he created us to be!

Happy 2017!

This is great! Funny how we see others as having it all together, and wish that was us, yet we all struggle with our own stuff. Being grateful and content with how God created us and fully enjoying the life we have is a precious thing! Great reminder Jen!
