I'm a hair product junkie. I love the possibility of spraying in a product and waalaa - perfectly wavy curls!
You know, like a Pantene commercial. ;)
Ok, in reality it never happens to me that way but that doesn't stop me from trying new products!
One hair line that I'm loving is Function of Beauty. Function of Beauty is a personalized shampoo and conditioner company. The bottle of shampoo and conditioner that you get from them is created just for you and your hair goals. You just enter in a few details about your hair type and what kind of outcome you would like and they do the rest!
This is exactly what I chose for my hair formula.
After using this duo for close to 2 months, I would say it did everything I wanted! It didn't weigh it down and kept the frizziness away. It felt so soft when I was done washing and conditioning it and continued to feel soft through the day. A few times I let it air dry to see what would happen (something I'm guessing will happen more frequently after Baby B gets here!) and I actually loved it! I added my normal curling creme but my hair stayed frizz free and didn't look flat at all.
All of the products are made in Pennsylvania and the co-founder of the company shared with me that she selects mostly natural ingredients from reputable cosmetic raw material suppliers from all over the world: US, Brazil, France, Spain, Germany, Canada, Korea. In fact, 98% of their ingredients are natural! LOVE!
The one thing I wish was slightly different is how sudsy the shampoo gets. I like a really sudsy shampoo (fine, you can call me high maintenance) and the one I received doesn't get super bubbly. I went on their site and chatted with their chemist and learned that is totally doable! My next shampoo will be a different formula with more bubbles. Umm..sold!!
You can also easily switch up your formula with each order depending on your hair needs at the time. Or if you love what you used simply click reorder and you'll get the exact same product!
The surprise bonus? It has your name on the bottles! I totally geeked out when I saw that.
The cost of their products is $13 a bottle which is more than a drugstore shampoo/conditioner but less than a salon brand (which I use). One thing I've learned in life is to spend a bit more on good shampoo and conditioner. It really doesn't cost that much more when you space it out over 6 months (or more depending on how often you wash your hair) and it really does make a difference.
And surprise!! The lovely people over at Function of Beauty are giving all of you $5 off your first order! Just click this link for it to be applied to your account: https://functionofbeauty.com/?ref=570fa9fcd6e67 (you'll see the discount when choosing your bottle size).
I believe in full transparency so using my referral link will save you $5 off your order, and I will receive a $5 credit towards my next Function of Beauty purchase. This incentive has not influenced my opinion in any way...I really am a hair product snob and wouldn't recommend anything I didn't actually like! :)
Anyone else ever tried Function of Beauty? I'd love to hear your thoughts below!
