Paisley + Sparrow is pretty with a purpose, but do you know the purpose of each item? Everything in the shop supports a social justice cause in the U.S. or around the globe. I'm here to share just some of these unique impacts with you... and our favorite pieces from each cause!
Poverty: It's estimated that half of the world's population lives on less than $2.50 per day, and women are more likely to live in poverty than men. Items like the Mango Pocket tank, the Petal Stud Coral earrings (or Periwinkle), and the Solaris pendant are empowering women to rise above poverty and become independent.
Sex trafficking survivors: Human trafficking is the third largest illegal crime industry, and a majority of the people affected are women... but thanks to our partners and you, beautiful items (including the Dusk Silver bangles, the classic Chevron necklace in gold or silver, the Atlas earrings, and the Mirage necklace) are bringing hope.
HIV+/AIDS: Especially in other cultures, those living with HIV/AIDS are often shunned from communities and don't receive proper care or support. Jewelry cooperatives in Ethiopia are restoring dignity and purpose to women affected by HIV/AIDS. Shop the Hanna Braid necklace in silver, the Bemnu earrings in gold or silver, and the Asmir triangle wrap to support this cause.
Clean water: Around the world, 1 in 10 people don't have access to clean water. When you purchase a bar of Hand in Hand Soap: Wildflower + Fern, a bar is donated and a month of clean water is provided for a child in a developing country (plus 50 feet of a rain forest is saved)!
Addiction: Addiction and abuse leaves women broken, hurting, and feeling forgotten. Thanks to one of our partners, FashionABLE + Miriam Collection, women recovering from abuse and addiction in the Nashville area are being invested in, taught, and shown they're loved. The Hammered Stacking rings in gold or silver, the T-Bird necklace, and the Druzy necklace are made by these women!
Every item from Paisley + Sparrow, from apparel and baskets to jewelry and journals, is supporting one of these causes and (more importantly) the women affected by them. When you purchase something pretty with a purpose, you're joining others around the world in making a difference.
